Greetings from the Bourques in Malaysia, Canada, and New Zealand

After 1½ years in S.E. Asia, Pat and I continue to enjoy our time here, clocking in miles to New Zealand (twice), England (London and the Southwest), Thailand, China (Beijing), Japan (Kobe, Hiroshima and Fuji) and Australia (Sydney and Melbourne). Pat’s brother, Peter, spent 6 weeks here this Fall, joining us in time to celebrate Thanksgiving in KL, followed by trips to Perth, Australia (love those Margaret River wines!) and NZ, where we hiked the 53 km Milford Track (South Island) over 4 days! Christmas will be spent in the US and Mexico this year with Jen and Steph.

Jen in Birks Hall, McGill University, Montreal

Having spent the summer as an intern in the Anglican Church of Canada with the Diocese of Fredericton, Jen will complete her Master’s in Sacred Theology in December, graduating from McGill next May 28, 2007. She will then start a ministry internship in Montreal. She plans to spend the winter months with us in Kuantan, joining her friend, Ben, in some travels around S.E. Asia.

Steph in Dunedin, New Zealand

Steph has finished an awesome year in Christchurch, NZ as a Rotary Scholar, where she traveled extensively throughout the country, “tramping” and skiing in July! She will graduate from Auburn University in Alabama with a B.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences and a B.A. in Psychology on December 15, 2006. Currently she is applying for medical school next year.
