Jen and Ben get married July 12, 2008! (Part VI)

The wedding reception was held in adjoining rooms upstairs in the Restaurant du Vieux Port. Jen and Ben did it all: they planned the delicious buffet dinner, chose the green and white decorations (fresh herbs in white pots, lots of votive candles and the wedding bouquests and arrangements), hired the DJ, picked out the cake, and from the pictures, it looks like they had a fabulous time! It truly was an evening to remember!

That's it...jumpa lagi!

P.S. The newlyweds are living in Montreal in a ground floor duplex in NDG. Jen is working as an Anglican Chaplain in the ER Dept. of the Children's Hospital and Ben is studying at Carleton University in Ottawa, beginning his PhD in Math! They are "some" busy, as they say in N.B.!

After the ceremony, the two wedding co-ordinators served lemonade on the lawn as we held a receiving line, greeting our guests from near and far. Pictures were taken afterwards against the pretty stone wall of the Church, then the newlyweds headed to the Old Port to have some excellent walkabout pictures taken. Jen and Ben get married July 12, 2008! (Part IV)

The Wedding ceremony was held at 3 p.m. at St. Mark's Church in Dorval, Quebec, where Jen had been interning under Rev. Karen Chalk while attending the Diocesan Theological College in Montreal. In the last blog, you saw us getting ready to leave the Auberge Bonaparte in Old Montreal in the stretch white limo with our driver, Lucien. It was 2:30 p.m. and with no traffic en route, we arrived just a tad too early to make "the grand entrance"...so we had Lucien drive us along Lakeshore Blvd. just about to Pointe Claire and back again! It was a good chance to sit back, relax and catch our breath!

Ring bearer Adam and flower girl Elly enter the Church first. It was a big day for the two of them and it was Elly's 6th birthday! She carefully scattered silk rose petals along the aisle and took her role very seriously indeed! Well done both of you!
